current digital/analogue set-up (phone, camera, mp3 player)
i had struggled with being on my phone too much and had been tweaking my set-up so that i get the good sides of my phone while not sinking all my time into it:
- phone: my iphone as a tool. i have mail, messengers, banking apps, 2FA (need to move from google auth), maps. i do not have tiktok, instagram, reddit, or anything of the sort. the only way for me to waste my time into it is either by watching youtube, or scrolling telegram channels. the main reason why i don't choose a dumbphone is my family and friends, many of them are abroad.
- songs: mp3 player. i am moving from music streaming platforms to offline music storage
- photos: a digital camera instead of the one in my phone. this is also a WIP. i wonder if i should get another camera or not, the quality of the pictures on this one are not the best, on one hand. on another hand, the photos make me really happy to look at, and isn't it what matters? the camera is winait rs02, for reference.

here is the photo quality, for reference. it was a rainy day in paris, and it felt exactly how it looks in the photo:

- physical photos: for photos on special occasions - instax.
- reading: physical books, rss field on my computer, epub books (on computer only)
- diary: physical, i try to bring it everywhere with me. it's the smallest leuchtturm1917

i jot down my dreams, thoughts, glue in some photos and old tickets. it feels good in my soul to look back on the memories and see them, physically.
that is all for now. the setup is not perfect, but it might give someone else inspiration. the jewel has been an mp3 player, i had been skipping songs less and the overall experience is really nice. you feel more "in" the music.
