i made my phone look fun
woo, doesn't this look fun? i've used the shortcuts app to set up the icons for the apps. my phone now makes me smile. my latest set-up is:
- phone for actual communication, writing down my dreams first thing in the morning, and tiktok (i discovered two cool youtubers whose longform content i now watch regularly there). worth noting that i do not have any social media apps, other than telegram and tiktok. i have deleted whatsapp recently and it has been blissful
- saving memories via video camera (color-grading it later and creating vlogs of my life which i do not post anywhere)
- work on the laptop
- music and podcast listening on my audio player
- calendar is a physical one with lots of stickers on the front page.
i feel at peace with technology for the first time in a while. it feels like i have set things up exactly how i wanted to. i greatly recommend everyone to experiment a bit with their tech set-up until you find something that works for you! the one point of slight contention is writing down dreams in my phone, i sort of wish i did it in my diary... but then again, my cursive is incomprehensible if i write anything first thing in the morning, so maybe this is better. the notes i am using are not the default ones, but the app which lets me write and save md files locally on my phone (it's called iA Writer if anyone's curious. a bit too expensive, but it is a one-time purchase instead of a subscription, which i like). iirc it was difficult to export old Notes on iOS - i think i tried to do that a while ago.
